Finalizing our route for 2013!

on September 27, 2012 - 1:46pm

Al Newman and friends begin today a 10 day ride along our entire route with riders simaltaneously examining different sections. Upon their return we will have a final determination of our route for 2013, and we can then begin to attach a schedule to our route. Thank you Al and friends, ride safely, and keep your grapes peeled!

One year to go!

on September 4, 2012 - 9:41pm

We're counting the days (362) until we start our big trip, 1900 miles from the headwaters of the Mississippi to New Orleans!  Look here soon for many new updates to our site, and many more blog entries letting you know who we all are, and what we hope to achieve in 2013. A year to train, prepare, raise the necessary funds, and to locate and partner with the dozens of groups we hope to benifit during our trip. Thanks for your interest as we start to let out the clutch...

JBE 2012, local ride July 15 !

on June 7, 2012 - 12:56pm

The majority of our efforts this year are to support our 2013 trip down the Mississippi, but we're inviting you here and now to our one and only local ride of 2012! Please gather your friends and join us Sunday July 15th for a 2pm concert at the Chelsea District Library, followed by a 3pm  group ride from the Library to the Wolverine State Brewery in Ann Arbor, where we will perform again at 5pm. The ride is 15 miles in length and will travel at a very leisurely pace, allowing anyone to comfortably join in.

Beautiful finish, beautiful day!

on July 16, 2011 - 1:44pm

I've just awoken, and am beginning to wade through all the many feelings summoned by the events of the last two weeks. Yesterday was strong affirmation that the heart of our project is strong, and means different things to different people. When I first began to envision this, even some of my best friends looked at me with tilted heads, and bemused expressions; what are you doing, why, and how? Like all individuals, our project is unique, and can be appreciated and used to different ends at different times.
